September 5, 1985Orval Brownmiller, 76, brother of Ralph Brownmiller of Granville, died Thursday, September 5 at a hospital in Iowa City following a long illness
Services were held Monday in the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. The Rev. Bob Davis officiated
Burial in North Lawn Memorial Center in Spencer
Mr. Brownmiller was born July 30, 1909 in Meriden
He married Violet Roberts on December 7, 1932 and the couple made their home on a farm in Rock Township
He had been a resident of Cherokee Township most of his life and was affiliated with St. Paul's United Methodist Church
Survivors include his wife; three brothers, Vernon of Marcus, Ralph of Granville and Harland of Spencer; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Peterson of Marcus, Mrs. Lila Maranell of Paullina and Mrs. Vanona Conry of Pierson
Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee was in charge of arrangements
