William Byron Brinkley, 75, of Dickens, died Saturday, November 15 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Warner Chapel, Spencer. The Rev. William Smith and the Rev. Judy Deweber will officiate.

Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery, Spencer.

Masonic services will be held by Perfection Lodge No. 651 AF and AM, Webb and the American Legion, Glen Pedersen Post No. 1, Spencer will conduct military services.

Casket Bearers: Larry Salton, Bill Lawson, Tom Gross, Jerry Gross, Tim Lawson and Bruce Prentice.

Honorary Bearers: Leo Lang, Roy Myers, Archie Andrews, Roy Burger, Fred Grey and Eldon Larson.

The son of Claude and Hattie Ziller Brinkley. Mr. Brinkley was born January 9, 1911 in Weston, Illinois. He grew up in the Gillett Grove area and attended country schools in Logan Township.

Mr. Brinkley served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Helen Lane on February 14, 1946 in Spencer and they lived in the Gillett Grove area, where Mr. Brinkley farmed for 60 years.

Mr. Brinkley served for 17 years on the ASCS committee was on the Gillett Grove school board and a member of Perfection Lodge No. 651 AF and AM and the Webb American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Wyatt of Dickens; one daughter, Alene Brinkley of Spencer; one brother, Husia Brinkley of Creve Coeur, Illinois and three sisters, Thelma Lawson of Greenville, Lois Salton of Ruthven and Lorana (Pat) Gross of Spencer.

Warner Funeral Home, Spencer is in charge of the service arrangements.
