Larry D. Kramer, the son of Albert and Vena (Hopfe) Kramer, was born June 16, 1940 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Spencer area, where he received his education at Riverton #4 Country School near Spencer and then later attended Spencer High School.

Larry married Shirley Joan Steburg on January 26, 1958 at the First Congregational Church in Spencer. Throughout their adult life, he worked at Spencer Foods for more than 20 years. He later worked at Utility Equipment, Midland Transportation and then was self-employed as an electrician, until his retirement.

Larry enjoyed having coffee and 'shooting the breeze' with the boys from Country Kitchen, City Limits, Mowery's and the North Y Truckstop in Spencer.

He passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the age of 71, surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lila Pooler.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley of Spencer; two children: Darrel and his wife, Lori Kramer and Dana and his wife, Nancy Kramer all of Spencer; his grandchildren: Kayla Lindsay and her husband, Jason, Katie and her husband, Mike Koenecke, Courtney Kramer and Dane Kramer all of Spencer; four great-grandchildren; his siblings: Verlyn Kramer and his wife, Florence of Fostoria, Betty Menke of Spencer, Gary Kramer and his wife, Vikki of Iowa Falls, IA, Glenda Peterson and her husband, Don of Spencer and Terry Kramer and his wife, Judy of Milford, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
