Mildred Wellmerling, 1909-1921

Mildred Wellmerling, the twelve year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Wellmerling, 302 East Seventh street, passed away at the Presbyterian hospital in Omaha, Nebr., on Thursday evening, May 26, 1921, after an illness of six months. She was taken sick about the first of December and on February 15 she was removed from her home to the hospital in Omaha. Her death was due to complications arising after an attack of flu.

Funeral services were held May 29 at two o'clock conducted by Rev. Robert Lee Stuart, pastor of Grace M.E. church. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.

Mildred Katherine Wellmerling was born in Rembrandt, Iowa, March 31, 1909. She attended the Rembrandt schools and on June 5, 1917, moved to Spencer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Wellmerling. The following fall she started to school at the north school where she had been a faithful student until the time of her illness in December. She had finished her fifth year of school work.

Those left to mourn her death besides her parents are one sister, Harriet, and one brother, Harold Fred Jr.
