Services for Herbert Ackley Arms, 71, of Milford were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Warner Chapel. Rev. Kermit Roisen officiated at the services.

Interment was at the Northlawn Cemetery in Spencer

Pallbearers; Jim Tjaden, Dave Welle, Bob Welle, Bud Welle, Jerry Welle, Maurice Coover and Larry Barglof.

Arms, the son of Roy and Mabel (Garrett) Arms, was born November 13, 1908 in Oskaloosa. The family moved to the Greenville area when he was young. He was educated there.

Arms married Florence May Tjaden on February 15, 1929 in Greenville. Throughout their lives, they made their home in Greenville and Milford.

Arms died Thursday, February 21, 1980 in McAllen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Florence of Milford; two sons, Ronald of Commanche and Russell of Milford; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Beck of Greenville; nine grandchildren; one brother, Erwin Barglof of Linn Grove; and three sisters, Mrs. Lester Welle of Milford, Mrs. Florence Coover of Spencer and Mrs. Beatrice Coover of Spencer.

Warner Funeral Home was in charge of the service arrangements.
