February 8, 1959Albert Glen Albers known as Glen was born at Rossie, September 26, 1908 and died at Red Oak, February 8, at the age of 50 years, four months and 12 days. He was the son of Gottlieb and Nora Albers.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Theodore, who died in infancy. He grew to young manhood in the Rossie Community and attended the Rossie School.
On May 18, 1934, Glen was united in marriage to Naomi Beck of Greenville in the Presbyterian parsonage at Storm Lake. To this union were born three sons, Glen Jr. of Ames, Ronald Ray also of Ames and Jerry Dean at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Albers farmed in the Greenville community until 1942. At this time they moved to a farm near Clara City, Minnesota. In the year of 1950 they united with the Congregational Church at Wabasha, Minnesota in which their membership has never changed.
At the time of his death he was associated with the Farmers Co-op Oil Company of Marathon and Red Oak. They had made their home in Red Oak since last October.
Glen leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Naomi, three sons, Glen Jr., Ronald Ray and Jerry Dean. Two sisters, Glee, Mrs. Wesley Tatro of San Jose, California and Grace, (Mrs. Lester Cowan) of Royal, one brother Leslie of Rockford, Illinois. Also a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Lightle-Hayes Funeral Home, Spencer, Thursday afternoon, February 12 at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Verne Willey of the Congregational Church, Sioux Rapids, officiated.
Interment was made in North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery
Pallbearers: Herb Stuckensenier and Lyle Anderson of Marathon, Morrell Coover of Greenville, Dan Gibson of Gillett Grove, Clarence Garrelts and Jack Kennedy of Ayrshire.
