Goldie Marie Patten McBreen

August 15, 2011Goldie Marie McBreen was born February 14, 1917 to Jacob and Elizabeth Patten. She attended Lake Center School and grew up on a farm near Langdon, Iowa.
Goldie was united in marriage to Lewis John Bair on July 5, 1935. Lewis passed away during World War II on December 14, 1944.
Goldie was then united in marriage to Wendell Thomas McBreen on July 8, 1947. Wendell passed away November 28, 1981. During her married years, she farmed in Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota before moving to Spirit Lake in 1967.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and gardening, especially flowers. She loved family get-togethers during the holidays, traveling with family and playing cards. She attended the Methodist Church.
Goldie passed away August 15, 2011 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at the age of ninety four years, six months and one day.
She is survived by five children, Richard (Lois) Bair of Martin, SD, Gerald (Pam) Bair of Ankeny, IA, Shirley (Chuck) Fuller of Spirit Lake, IA, Susan Bremer of Okoboji, IA and Sandra (James) Clancy of Mesa, AZ; ten grandchildren, Shelly (Rick) Fair, Jeff (Jana) Fuller, Scott (Maxi) Bair, Kelli (Larry) Achenbach, Stephanie (Brian)Cosgrove, Michelle (Brian) Grice, Troy (Jacquie) Bair, Robyn Bremer (special friend, John), Lucas (Teresa) Bair and Randy (Daphne) Bremer; twenty-five great-grandchildren, Mathew (Amanda), Keith (Leslie), Aaron (Stormie) and Justin Risse, Brooke and Alexis Bair, Shawna and Dayre Evans, Noel Deering (special friend, Gena), Simon (Angie) Fuller, Liza (Rod) Parker, Gabe Fuller (fiancé, Alanna Valentine) and Megan Fuller, Rebekah and Michael Achenbach, Evan Grice, Nathaniel, Jackson and Owen Bair, Jimmy, Lauren and Kristen Cosgrove, Calvin Bair, Dalten and Tayler Bremer; ten great-great-grandchildren, Juliet, Gavin and Jordan Risse, Tyson, Gracie, Maddux and Kendyll Risse, Hayden Risse, Skyler Robinson and Tyson Fuller; one sister, Zelma Peta and many nieces and nephews.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; grandson, Steven Bair; three brothers, Harry, Roy and Jake Patten; six sisters, Daisy Kruse, Sylvia Brock, Sally Fairchild, Elva Madagan, Bertha Hansen and Orvilla Patten.
Burial was at Northlawn Memorial Park, Spencer, IA
