Funeral services for the late Matt Erickson, who passed away at his home in Royal, Iowa, Tuesday morning, August 9, 1921, at two o'clock, will be conducted by Rev. Carleson, pastor of the Danish Lutheran church of Royal at the residence this Thursday afternoon at one o'clock. Interment will be made in Central cemetery.
Matt Erickson was born, in Denmark on January 25, 1834. He came to this country in 1856 and located at Racine, Wisconsin, where he was engaged in the blacksmith trade for many years. In 1868, he moved to Clay county and settled on a farm in Clay township, where he lived until 1905, then bought a farm north of Royal where he resided for four years. On account of ill health he retired from the farm in 1909 and has spent the balance of his life in the town of Royal.
Matt Erickson was never married. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Albert Erickson of Royal, and three nieces.
