Death of An Old Settler
By the death of Rev. John W. Jones, of Douglas township, Clay county looses one of its oldest settlers, and most respected citizens.
Mr. Jones has lived in this county about forty years. He was a preacher in the Welsh Baptist church. His wife died several years ago, since which time he has made his home with his adopted daughter, Mrs. Rich Bowen, they farming his land.
He died last Thursday and was buried Sunday in the cemetery near the Pioneer Welsh church.
