Thomas J. Peabody, old resident of Logan township, passed away at his home near Gillett Grove, Saturday, January 8, 1927, at the age of sixty-three years, seven months and four days.
Thomas J. Peabody was born in Carroll county, Ohio, June 4, 1863. In 1889 he came to Clay county, and settled on a farm near Gillett Grove, where he has lived for thirty-eight years. He was married July 27, 1892, to Ann Hovinga. To this union were born three children, Sarah, Alexander, and Simon, one of whom, Alexander, preceded his father in death. Mr. Peabody was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday afternoon, January 12, at one o'clock, at the Gillett Grove church. Rev. Magnuson of the Gillett Grove church and Rev. Morrow of Havelock were in charge of the services. Interment was made in Garfield cemetery at Webb.
Mr. Peabody is survived by his wife and two children, Sarah and Simon, and one sister, Mrs. James Low, of Conotton, Ohio.
