Mrs. George Bell passed away on Friday, July 6, at the hospital at Storm Lake shortly after undergoing an operation. The body was brought to Spencer and funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.F. Hurst Monday afternoon at the Grace Methodist church and burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
Olive Nettie Whitcomb was born at Russell, Lucas county, Iowa, August 24, 1866, and was the oldest of a family of eight children. She made her home in Lucas county until 1895 when she moved to Marathon, Iowa. It was while living at Marathon that she met George Bell and in January 21, 1897, they were united in marriage. They lived on a farm southwest of Marathon until 1910 and then moved to Hulda, Minn., where they lived for one year. They returned to their farm southwest of Marathon and lived there until 1920. In March, 1920, they moved to Spencer and lived here until March, 1923, when they returned to the Marathon farm.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Bell is survived by one daughter Sadie and three brothers, Frank Bell of Russell, Iowa, Sherman Bell of Hooper, Neb., and Mitchell Bell of Colorado.
