Earl Van Devender, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Van Devender of Riverton contracted diphtheria last week and died Saturday, April 29. The little fellow was born in Fort Dodge on February 5, 1914, and was at the time of his death eight years, two months and twenty four days of age. A private funeral service was held at the house in Riverton township Saturday afternoon, April 29, and Rev. E. H. Grummer, pastor of the American Lutheran church conducted a short burial service at Riverside cemetery where the little body was laid to rest.
