Robert James Rausch, the son of George and Edna (Lockey) Rausch, was born June 25, 1923, three miles west of Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer where he attended school. Bob missed his senior year to stay home to farm and help his family when his father was killed in a farm accident. He returned the following year to school and graduated from Spencer High School.

Following his schooling Robert worked for Spencer Foods for 21 years. On March 1, 1948, he was united in marriage to Wilma Lorenzen in Jackson, MN.

Bob enjoyed fishing and traveling, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

On June 24, 2008, Robert passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa, at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lorenzen on May 18, 2006, and his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Robert Rausch of Schyler, NE, William Rausch of Hartley, IA; one sister, Connie (Denton) Lux of Sutherland; two sisters-in-law: Avis (Gary) Snyder of Burlington, IA, Virginia Garner of Miami, FL; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
