Spencer, IowaElizabeth Bouc Mart, daughter of Louis and Emma (Urbanek) Bouc, born on May 1, 1924, outside Touhy, NE.
Betty was born and raised on a farm, surrounded by many relatives, and went to grade and high school at Valparaiso, NE.
She met her future husband while working in Omaha during WWII where they married on May 13, 1944.
After the war they settled in Spencer, IA, raising their family and eventually starting their own business Zenith Pictorial Advertising, dealing in aerial photography and specialty advertising. Red was the pilot-photographer-salesman while Betty ran the office and did oil paintings. The whole family was involved in dark room work. They sold the business and retired to Mesa, AZ, in 1995.
Passed away on May 1, 2008 at Marquis Place, Elkhorn, NE.Preceded in death by her husband, Vincent (Red) Mart on September 7, 1997.
Beloved mother of Joan, husband Rafael Sanz, grandchildren Laura, Daniel, David, Marisa, Rafael, and Martin plus great grandson Justo of Albacete, Spain; Ronald Mart, wife Cathy, grandchildren Tanya, Tasha, Jason and step-grandson Matthew of Columbus, Ohio; Sandra Abel and granddaughter Kate of San Jose, CA; and Marjorie, husband Richard Lochmiller, grandchildren Nichole, Richard, Stephanie and great-grandsons Keagan and Jayden (their Grandma Buddy) of Valley, NE.
Survived by her brother Edward Bouc and wife Ruth of Daly City, CA, and her sister Kathi and husband Tony Carolla of San Carlos, CA.
She will be greatly missed by her dear friends and church community of the past 15 years in the Mesa/Phoenix area.
Betty was a gentle, loving person of deep faith and a great love of fun, making her a favorite companion for card games and gatherings. Known for her good sense of humor, she enjoyed playing practical jokes on family and friends. She loved to travel to see family spread all over the world and especially enjoyed a visit to her ancestors villages in the Czech Republic. Her joy for life, her love of family and friends and her strong faith are her legacy to us all.
