Daryl (Bud) Alfred Feaster, son of Albert and Maye (Brown) Feaster, was born March 22, 1922, in Rolfe, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Rolfe where he received his early education. The family then moved to Arnolds Park, Iowa, where he helped his dad operate the Dreamland Roller Rink. After moving to Spencer, IA, he was drafted into the Service in 1942. He fought in the European Conflict and Battle of Normandy. He was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Spencer.

Where he married Clara Wolthuis on July 16, 1947. He worked for the Jersey Dairy and Terrace Park Dairy for 32 years. He retired and had part-time jobs. Bud enjoyed fishing and building birdhouses. His love for family was evident to all who knew him and especially loved talking about his grandchildren.

On January 26, 2007, Bud passed away at the Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry Feaster; and sisters, Alberta Loveland and Violet Wells.

Bud is survived by his wife, Clara, of Spencer, IA; two children: Kirby Feaster of Spencer, IA, and Karen Bonstead and husband, Doug of Michigan; four grandchildren: Luke and Logan Feaster, Cory Bonstead and Kelly (Lee) Bathgate; two great-grandchildren, Braydon and Trevine Bathgate; two sisters: Barbara McCain of Emmetsburg, IA, and Betty Cooper of California; other relatives and friends.
