Genevieve LeVaughn Mori, daughter of Joe and Emmaline (Olsen) Thomas, was born April 27, 1909, in Alta, Iowa. She moved to Webb, Iowa, as an infant where she spent her childhood attending the Webb school, graduating in 1927.

She married Gaye Woodford in 1929, and to this union three children were born. In 1963, Genevieve married John Mori of Greenville, Iowa, where they farmed until his death in 1994. She loved the farm life, especially being outdoors doing farm chores and growing flowers. After Johns death, Genevieve moved to Spencer where she lived in her own home until about a month before her death.

Genevieve passed away December 22, 2006, at the Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; 3 brothers; infant daughter, Ardyth Faye and son, Arlyn Gaye.

Genevieve is survived by one daughter, Shirley Parks of Spencer, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Jolaine (Mrs. Bill Toombs) of Clam Gulch, Alaska; one stepson, Dennis Mori of France; five grandchildren: Curtis and Cheryl Parks, Kim and Ken Borth, Brett and Michelle Parks, Brenda and Ted Ravenscroft, and Jim Parks; eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Sadie Adams of Spirit Lake, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
