The sudden death of Mrs. Joanna Moody occured at her home in this city Sunday in the seventy-sixth year of her age. Joanna Brindleeon was born in Sweden, June 3rd, 1828. Married John J. Moody, Oct. 18th, 1850, to which union was born three sons and five daughters. Five children survive her, Alfred J. Moody, Mrs. Amelia Larsen, Mrs. Andrew Peterson, Mrs. A. C. Anderson, of Spencer and Mrs. Emma Johnston, of Des Moines.

In company with her husband Mrs. Moody came to Spencer in the year of 1881, which place has since been her home. In early life she united with the church and has always been a worthy member. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Church of Christ and was conducted by Rev. A. L. Criley, of Sheldon. Burial took place at Riverside cemetery.
