Colleen Fay Luedke the daughter of Donald and Violet Byers Trunnell, was born December 21, 1931 in Hartley, Iowa. She received her early education at a country school by Hartley and later attended the Hartley High School.

She married Gale Luedke on June 4, 1949 in Sanborn, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their home in northwest Iowa, mostly in Storm Lake and then Spencer. Colleen enjoyed furniture refinishing and baking her famous chocolate chip cookies. Most of all, Colleen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Colleen passed away on December 17, 2012 at Longhouse Residence in Spencer at the age of 80. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gale on August 31, 1993.

She is survived by her children: Daniel (Lucy) Luedke of Phoenix, AZ, Larry (Kaylene) Luedke of Spencer, IA, Monica Luedke of Spencer, IA and Robert Luedke of Storm Lake, IA; her grandchildren: Christy Steffen (Jason Comisky) of Ankeny, IA, Nick Steffen of Spencer, IA, Sonia Luedke Thomas (Brian) of Portland, OR, Matt Luedke of Phoenix, AZ, Brenda Luedke Cribbs (Ian) of Flagstaff, AZ, Casey Luedke (Michelle) of Hahira, GA, Kelly Luedke (Peter Lewison) of Spencer, IA, Brian Luedke of Bloomington, MN, Kara Luedke of Spencer, IA and Chad Weinzetl (Kim) of McKinney, TX; 4 great grandchildren; her special aunt, Lillian Dempsey of Capistrano Beach, CA; other relatives and friends.

Interment in Riverside cemetery
