F.A. Cady a resident of Spencer for about forty years, died early this morning at the Clay county farm, where he had been staying since last June. He was 73 years old.
He came here from Algona in the eighties and was for some time employed by Jake Blossom, a butter and egg dealer. In 1891 he married Mrs. Mary Ann Montour, who was in the hotel business here for thirty-five years. After the marriage his wife and he conducted the hotel which was the Commercial House. Part of it was destroyed by fire but part is still standing on the south side of Third street half a block west of Main and has been remodeled as a residence. Mrs. Cady died March 3, 1921.
Mr. Cady is survived by a brother, G.W. Cady, of Mason City, to whom word of his death has been sent. He did have a brother at Algona also. Other survivors are two daughters and a son of Mrs. Cady by a previous marriage, Miss Rene Montour of Detroit, Mich., Miss Ruby Montour of Minneapolis and Frank Montour of Winthrop, Minn.
