Funeral services for Mr. Ronald G. Steuben, 75 of Everly will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Hope Lutheran Church of Everly.Rev. Kathy Wicks will officiate the service.
Interment will take place at Lone Tree Cemetery of Everly.
Casket bearers will be Kevin Adolf, David Schoelerman, Jeff Schoelerman, Brandon Steuben, Rodney Steuben and Robert Schoelerman.
Ronald passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at St. Luke Lutheran Home of Spencer.
Ronald Gene Steuben, the son of Peter and Elfie Schoelerman Steuben, was born June 2, 1931 in Spencer. His childhood years were spent in Everly, where he received his education, graduating from Everly High School in 1949. Following high school, he began his farming career.
Ron married Shirley Thorman on Dec. 1, 1955 in Sheldon. Following their marriage, they lived for a short time in Spencer, before moving to a farm near Everly in 1959. His wife, Shirley, passed away on Aug. 17, 1969.
Ron married Beverly Engel on Aug. 25, 1979 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly. The couple continued to live on a farm near Everly. One of Ron's biggest accomplishments was when he was named Master Pork Producer for the State of Iowa in 1968.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Shirley.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Beverly of Everly; one daughter, Lori Lynn Steuben of Spencer; a son, Kelly Gene Steuben of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Elyse Engel of Lake Park; a stepson, Bryan Engel and his wife, Betty, of Orleans; five grandchildren; and his twin brother, Robert Dean Steuben of Royal.
Warner Funeral Home of Everly is in charge of arrangement
