Willard Morgan Hugunin, 1901-1924

Willard Morgan Hugunin was born August 21, 1901, at Spencer, Iowa, and died March 27, 1924, at St. Louis hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

He was the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Hugunin southeast of Spencer. He attended the public school at Spencer and also took a commercial course at Buena Vista college at Storm Lake, Iowa. For the past three or four years he had been employed as hotel clerk in the West Hotel at Minneapolis, Minn. From there he went to St. Louis about the last of February. Here he contracted a cold which turned into pneumonia.

Word was received by his folks on Tuesday, March 25, of his illness. Willard's brother Guy left the next morning to see him, arriving in St. Louis about two hours after Willard's death. The body was shipped to Spencer and funeral services were conducted by Rev. Adams on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from the home southeast of Spencer. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Hugunin, five brothers, Victor, Guy, John and David Hugunin of Spencer, Ivan Hugunin of Jackson, Minn., and one sister, Ethel Hugunin of Spencer, besides a host of friends.
