Ella (Sonius) Hoffman
July 11, 1903-October 20, 1969Mrs. Martin Hoffman of Lake Park died October 20, 1969, at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital at Spirit Lake, Iowa. The Rev. Harley Carbaugh conducted services in the United Methodist Church at Lake Park, October 23, 1969. Burial was in First Reform Church Cemetery at Everly with Leyson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers: Arnold Hoffman, Henry Sonius, Louie Wiemers, Henry J. Sonius, Harold Wiemers and Marvin Hoffman.
Mrs. Hoffman was born July 11, 1903, on a farm northwest of Spencer to Henrich and Rixte Sonius and obtained her schooling in Summit Township Grade School. She has resided at Fostoria and Lake Park and was a member of the United Methodist Church at Lake Park.
Survivors include her husband; a son Andrew, of Lake Park; two daughters, Mrs. Verle (Ella) Lair of Spencer, Mrs. Earl (Joan) Langel of Rural Milford; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Rixte Croxton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and a brother, Dick Sonius of Apache Junction, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and four sisters.
