Funeral Services Last Thursday for Mrs. Forest Ryker

DICKENS (Special): Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Dickens last Thursday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Forest Ryker, 36, of Dickens, who died last Tuesday, May 5, of pneumonia.

Rev. C.E. Moore, pastor, officiate, and burial was in the Dickens cemetery.

Hilka Reeverts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Reeverts, was born June 13, 1899, in Grundy county, Iowa, and died at the age of 36 years, 11 months and eight days.

In 1905, with her parents, she moved to a farm near Dickens, and for the past 31 years has resided in this vicinity. Here she grew to womanhood and on November 1, 1920, at the age of 16 years, she was united in marriage to Forest Ryker.

Three Sons

To this union was born four children, a daughter, Rose Edna, their first child who lived only a few hours after birth, and three sons, George LeRoy, 13, Donald Eugene, 11, and Ervin Lavern, 6.

Mrs. Ryker was a member of the Methodist church and lived a true Christian life. She was well known throughout the community and was liked by all who knew her.

As a wife and mother, she was always kind and loving, and her devotion for members of the family as well as friends and neighbors will always be remembered.

Death came Tuesday morning at 4:15 following an illness of pneumonia which lasted only nine days.

Those Bereft

Those surviving are her husband, Forest Ryker, the three sons; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Reeverts; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Whalen and Mrs. Ralph Culver, both of Dickens, and Mrs. Forrest Peck of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and four brothers, Fred Reeverts, Ralph Reeverts, Albert Reeverts, and Bill Reeverts, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
