March 9, 1886-December, 1975Funeral for Mrs. Ethel May Alexander, 89, of Spencer was held Wednesday from Warner Funeral Chapel in Spencer.
The Rev. Wayne Clark officiated. The burial was at Lone Tree cemetery at Everly.
Bearers were Karl Marker, Jack Sylvester, Chris Sylvester, Hardie Ball, Byron Brinkman and August Burdett.
Mrs. Alexander died Tuesday at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1886, to William and Martha (Reed) Amick at Collison, Illinois.
She received her education in Collison. On September 22, 1904, she was married to Steve Alexander at Danville, Illinois. After her marriage, she and her husband made their home in Pontiac, Illinois, until 1915 when they moved to Spencer. They farmed in Clay County many years. Mrs. Alexander has been a resident of Longhouse in Spencer the past 12 years.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Spencer and was a homemaker by occupation.
Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Audrey Pullen of Spencer and Mrs. Roman (Madelaeine) Bunkers of Remsen, 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (November 29, 1960), a son Victor and four brothers.
