Wm. Jacob Schueneman was born in Germany, July 26th, 1832. In October, 1864, he was married to Miss Louisa Scheel and to this union were born eight children, two of whom died in infancy, most of the remaining ones living in the vicinity of Spencer. October 7th, 1881, Mr. Schueneman with his family came to this country and shortly afterward located on a farm in Summit township, which place has been the home of this estimable family for the past twenty-six years. Being a very industrious man, Mr. Schueneman soon found this a good country in which to become prosperous, and before many years he was the possessor of a very valuable farm, besides prospering otherwise. He was a good Christian character, this fact being exemplified in all his works. He belonged to the German Lutheran church, and he brought up his family in the firm belief of a True God.

Mr. Schueneman had been in poor health for about a year, but not until eight weeks ago was he considered in a serious condition; since that time he suffered much until death came to relieve him on Saturday, July 25th. The following Monday he was buried in Summit cemetery, Rev. Vishof, of Terril, conducting the funeral services. He leaves to mourn his loss, a widow and six children. The children are Mrs. C. H. Zishka, G.H. Schueneman, Mrs. C.M. Tess, Miss Tillie Schueneman, Mrs. Chas. Eisner and Mrs. Oscar Quist, all living in the vicinity of Spencer but the last two mentioned, whose homes are near Crookston, Minn. Mr. S. also leaves three brothers, Ernest and Fred, living in Germany, and Peter F., of this city.

The family has the heartfelt sympathy of numberless friends in their sad bereavement.
