Many were the expressions of sorrow passed last Thursday morning, March 3, 1921, when the death of Mrs. F.A. Cady was announced. Impressive funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from St. Stephens Episcopal church by the rector, Rev. J.N. MacKenzie. A duet, "Lead KIndly Light," was rendered by Mrs. Rex. C. Hubbard and Miss Olla Strarud, followed by a solo, "There Is a Land Mine Eyes Have Seen," by Miss Stramrud. There was a large attendance. The floral offerings were many an beautiful, sent by friends and organizations of which Mrs. Cady was a member. Burial was made in the mausoleum at Riverside cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. George B. Charles, C.Ed, R. and Fred L. Bender, and Dr. H.O. Green and Wm. Ellis.

Mrs. Cady had been ill for the past three weeks and her death was due to complications resulting from an attack of heart trouble.

Her maiden name was Mary Ann Rosier. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Rosier, now deceased. She was born May 3, 1854, at Dubuque, Iowa, and was therefore in her sixty-seventh year at the time of her death. At the age of one year she moved with her parents to McGregor where she spent her young days and where in the year 1874 she was united in marriage with Joseph Montour. They came to Spencer in 1879 where the deceased has made her home continuously for the past forty-two years.

To Mr. and Mrs. Mountour were born four children, two sons and two dauhters, Frank of St. James, Minnesota; Joe, who died in California in 1919; Miss Rene Mountour of Spencer; and Miss Ruby Montour of Minneapolis. Mr. Montour died in 1886 and in 1891 she was married to F.A. Cady of Spencer, who survives her.

There is one sister, Mrs. R. Trondle of Minneapolis and one brother, Frank Rosier, of Spencer, who were with their sister in her final illness.

Two granddaughters also survive, Mrs. Francis Montour Middlescoff of Los Angeles, California, and Miss Irene Mountour, of Spencer.

Mrs. Cady was widely known throughout this locality having engaged in the hotel business in Spencer for nearly thirty-five years. During her many years residence here her many fine qualities won her hosts of friends. She was a quiet, unassuming woman whose devotion to her family was unstinted, she was a true friend and neighbor, and a kindly christian woman who was ever doing good to others. Her death brings personal sorrow to her many friends who will join in extending deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Relatives and friends from away who came to attend the funeral were Frank Montour, of St. James, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. R. Troendle and Miss Ruby Montour, of Minneapolis; Mrs. G.W. Williams and Mrs. John Griffith, of Milkwaukee; Marve Cady, of Algona; Bert Goddard of Bancroft; Mrs. G.W. Cady, of Mason City; Miss Jessie Willard, of Heron Lake, Minnesota; Miss Grace Green, of Monmouth, Illinois; Mrs. Tom Jackson of Royal; and Sam Eastlack, of Schaller.
