September 12, 1920- July 3, 2007

Funeral services for Mr. Max Sheidan, 86, of Webb, will be held at 11 a.m., today, Friday, July 6, 2007, at Liberty Cemetery of Greenville. Rev. Tonna Parsons will officiate the service.

Military services will conducted by the American Legion- Glen Pedersen Post #1 of Spencer.

Max passed away Tuesday July 3, 2007, at the Spencer Hospital.

Casket bearers will be Lyle Kenobbie, Marc Monk, Craig Woodford, Glen Luchtel,Mark Vandehaar and Brian Krogman.

Max, the son of Ronald and Erma (Erwin) Sheridan, was born on September 12, 1920, in Oakville. He received his early education in Oakville where he graduated from High School. Following graduation, he played minor league baseball in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Max returned to Iowa where he worked as a crop duster in the family business.

On October 7, 1942, Max entered into the military in the United States Army. While in the military he was a welder working on aircraft. He also played on the baseball team. He was honorably discharged of February 6, 1946, in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.

On September 6, 1947, Max married Jean Phyllis Grieve in Muscatine. Following their marriage, they lived in Burlington, where he worked as an iron-worker. After retiring in 1970, the moved to Phyllis's family farm near Webb.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Susan Brewer in 1995.

Max is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Webb; son, John Sheridan and wife, Carolyn of Greenville; and three grandchildren.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
