Betty Ann Williamson, 1924-2007

Betty Ann Williamson, the daughter of Frank Oscar and Henrietta J. Petersen Rinehart, was born February 4, 1924 in Worthington, MN. Her childhood years were spent in South Dakota and later Everly, IA, where she received her education, graduating from Everly High School. Following high school, she moved to California and worked as a telephone operator on Catalina Island, CA.

Betty married Myrl Edwin Williamson on December 8, 1944 in San Francisco, CA. Following their marriage, they lived in California for a few years before moving back to Everly, where she worked at the telephone office. She later moved to Storm Lake, Georgia, and Florida. While in Florida, she continued her education while in her 60's and was offered a scholarship for her superior grades and work ethic. She moved back to Iowa late in her life, where she continued to live at the time of her death. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly. Betty also enjoyed her membership in the Red Hat Society and the Spencer Senior Center as well as playing cards and socializing.

Betty passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Johnny and a sister, Norma.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Joan and Doug Fraser of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Faye and Gary Deitering of Schaller, IA; one son, George and his wife, Chris Williamson of Elberfield, IN; four sisters: Marjorie Daniels of Georgetown, TX, Lois Noethe of Lytton, IA, Edith Williams of Sioux City, IA and Mary Calvert of Hot Springs, AR; three brothers: Harold and Lowell Rinehart of Highmore, SD and Robert Rinehart of Minnesota; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
