Simpson, Henry, 80, well-known in Spencer as a former Milwaukee railroad employee, died Nov. 21 at Long Beach, Calif. Funeral rites were conducted Saturday, November 28, at Cobb's Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.

Funeral Services Held on Saturday for H. Simpson
Funeral services for Henry Simpson, 89, well known in Spencer as a former Milwaukee railroad employee, were conducted Saturday afternoon at Cobb's Funeral Home. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mayne Lange of Long Beach, Calif., Nov. 21.
The Rev. Forrest Richeson, pastor of the Spencer Church of Christ, preached the funeral sermon. Members of the Masonic fraternity had a part in the services. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Simpson was born in Queensburg, N. Y., May 30, 1817 [sic]. He came to Grundy county, Iowa, where he lived on a farm and was married to Miss Susan Shirk Dec. 25, 1878.
To this marriage were born three children, Mrs. John Broadgate of Terrace Park, Iowa, Mrs. Mayne Lange of Long Beach, Calif., and Harry G. Simpson of Washington, Iowa, all of whom were with their father at the time of his death.
Other survivors include four grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many other relatives.
Mr. Simpson was employed by the Milwaukee railroad for 45 years. He left Arnolds Park, Iowa, three years ago to live in California. His wife died eight years ago.Source: Spencer Daily Reporter, Spencer, Clay County, Iowa; December 3, 1936.
