Mrs. Jacob Tindall passed away suddenly at 4:50 a.m. Monday, May 2, at the home of her daughter Mrs. F.J. Coleman, at Kuma, Idaho where she had been making her home since last May. She had reached the age of 82 years, 5 months and 11 days.
Ella Matilda Holmes was born November 10, 1844 at Jacksonville, Illinois. She was the daughter of Robert and Mary Leach Holmes, who formerly resided in Scarborough, England. She was the last and oldest of a family of four children. A brother, Robert Holmes, a half brother, William Martin, and sister, Mary Martin, preceded her several years ago. Mrs. Tindall attended school at Carlinville, Illinois and also at the Jacksonville Academy.
She was married to Jacob Tindall at Jacksonville Illinois, December 28, 1870. To this union were born four children, Robert Elmer and Alma Isabella who died in infancy at Homer, Illinois, Mary V. Coleman of Kuma, Idaho, and Mrs. Ella Janet Bjornstad of this city. Shortly after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Tindall moved to Danville, Illinois, and later to Homer, Illinois. In 1895 the family moved to Spencer. Mr. Tindall died August 30, 1925 and from then until last May Mrs. Tindall made her home with Mrs. Bjornstad.
Mrs. Tindall was a member of the First Congregational church at Spencer and a member of Evening Shade chapter No. 116, Order of Eastern Star. She was a kind and loving mother and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
The funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otto A. Bjornstad, 398 West Fourth street, at 4 p. m. Thursday, May 6th, conducted by her pastor, Rev. B.J. Trickey of the First Congregational Church.
