Clarence G. Tinkham was born in Rochester, Vermont, Jan. 27, 1845. He enlisted in the army of the Civil war in August 1863 and was discharged in June 1865. He was in a
Rebel prison five months and that experience broke his health and he has suffered years from it.He was married to Ann McCoalin in November 1869 who died in September 1871. In November 1874 he was married to Ellen J. Bisbee.
Mr. Tinkham was converted about eighteen years ago and united with the Free Baptist church, and has been an active member ever since.
He died Feb. 1, and was buried Sunday, the services being held at the Free Baptist church conducted by Rev. Evans, the pastor. The body was laid to rest in Riverside cemetery.
He leaves a wife, one daughter by his first marriage, two daughters and two sons by his last, and a brother to mourn his loss, besides a host of friends.
