Louise Bergeman was born October 3, 1880 in Hardin county. A few years later, her parents moved to Franklin county and some years later to Clay county where they resided on a farm and where she grew to womanhood sharing the duties incident to rural life at that time. In 1911 she, with her parents and younger sister, came to Spencer where they resided on West Fourth street. Here she bore her share of caring for the parents, both of whom preceded her to the better land by some years. After the father's death, the sisters spent some time on the western coast visiting friends in Washington, Oregon and California making an extended stay at San Diego. They returned to Spencer for about eighteen months when owing to impaired health she, accompanied by her sister, again left for San Diego, where she passed away on Friday, March 5, 1926.

She united with the church at an early age and loyally supported it giving liberally of her time, energy and means. While able, she was a regular attendant and taught for years in the church school.

Her devotion to her parents during their later years was unbounded. Hers was a quiet, modest life but always a kind, capable and helpful one.

She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Harry Heikens of Spencer and Miss Magdaline Bergeman of San Diego, and three brothers, Rev. G.L. Bergeman of Cedar Falls, J.M. Bergeman of San Diego and C.A. Bergeman of Spencer.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Methodist church at two o'clock Thursday, March the 11th by Dr. Clegg, assisted by Dr. Bond of Storm Lake. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery.
