Mrs. George Hargrave
The whole community was saddened last week by the death of Mrs. George Hargrave at her home west of town. Elizabeth Ann Henderson was born in Tama county, Iowa, on Oct. 18, 1880, and passed away Nov. 21, 1924, being at the time of her death 44 years, 1 month and 3 days of age.

She came with her parents to Clay county in 1901 and has since resided here. She joined the United Brethern [sic] church at the age of 16 but had her membership transferred to the Methodist church at Dickens.

She was united in marriage to Geo. Hargrave June 10, 1903, and to this union were born four children were born, Donald, Elizabeth, Irene and one baby dying in infancy.

She leaves to mourn her death besides her husband and children six brothers, three sisters and an aged father and mother besides a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Dickens, Rev. Carey officiating. The floral offerings were beautiful and many especially the floral emblem of the fiery cross presented by the Ku Klux Klan.

Burial was made in the Dickens cemetery. The Klansmen and the Rebekahs having charge at the cemetery.

Mrs. Hargrave will be greatly missed in the home and the community.

The sad death of Mrs. Geo. Hargrave took place Friday afternoon at her home west of town. She had been ailing for the past year but was confined to her bed about seven weeks with cancer and suffered terribly but was a patient sufferer and not a murmur of complaint was made. Mrs, J. J. Hargrave, her mother-in-law, and sister-inlaw Miss Katie Hargrave, a nurse, were constantly by her bedside and every thing possible was done by them and family and her many friends to make her comfortable.

Mrs. Hargrave was a splendid woman, a devoted member of the Methodist faith, a good mother and loving wife and dearly beloved by all who knew her.

She leaves to mourn their loss the husband and three children, Donald and Elizabeth, who graduated in the high school last year and Elizabeth is now teaching, and Irene, who is in high school, besides other relatives and a host of dear friends.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. church Monday, Rev. Cary officiating. The church was crowded to its capacity and the floral offerings were many and beautiful.

She was buried in the Dickens cemetery. Sympathy is extended from the entire community.
