Violet Bell Davis, 85, Royal, died Thursday, May 26, at her home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 31, at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer. The Rev. David Nelson officiated.

Burial was in North Lawn Memorial Park, Spencer, with Warner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Violet Bell Davis, the daughter of Roy and Laura Vanousdal Haley, was born Jan. 1, 1909, in Lake City. She received her early education in Linn Grove.

On March 23, 1927, she married Carter Davis in Linn Grove. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Linn Grove and Greenville areas. In 1963, the couple moved to Royal.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, three brothers, and one grandchild.

She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Scott and her husband, William of Royal; Lois Koenig and her husband, George, of Ayshire; Betty Lou Orthmann and her husband, Bob, of Peterson; and Glatha Ann Langel and her husband, Wayne, of Milford; one son Myron Davis of Yuma, Ariz.; nineteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
