Mrs. Dan Zishka, age 46 years, pioneer resident of this county, died last Wednesday morning, July 8, at 10 o'clock, at her home northwest of Spencer, following a lingering
illness.

She had been in failing health for some time and everything that medical skill could do to relieve her suffering was done, but to no avail.

Funeral rites were held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Zishka residence and at 2:30 o'clock from the English Lutheran church, Spencer. Rev. O. C. Geisler, pastor of the church, was in charge of the services.

Special music was sung by a group of church members who sang "For Me to Live Is Jesus," "To Die Is Gain for Me" and "I'm Not a Stranger Here, Heaven Is My Home." Burial was made in Summit township cemetery.

Augusta Johanna Doeling was born in Damecrow, Germany, Dec. 4, 1884. At the age of 14 years, she was confirmed in the Lutheran church, to which she remained a faithful member.

In 1903, with her parents, she came to America and they settled on a farm a few miles northwest of Spencer.

In the year 1913 she was united in marriage to Dan Zishka of this county. To this union four children were born, three daughters, Charlotte, Catherine and Phyllis, and a son, who preceded his mother in death in 1916.

During their residence here, Mr. and Mrs. Zishka and children made their home on a farm northwest of Spencer.

Mrs. Zishka is survived by her husband, three daughters mentioned above, two brothers, Herman Doeling of Berdulac, N. D., and Gustave Doeling of Sheldon, N. D.; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Zishka of Spencer and Mrs. J. Clayton of Gillett Grove,'and other relatives and a host of friends.
