Leona Heddinger, 88, of Spencer, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, June 1, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spencer, with Rev. Roger Linnan officiating.
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.
Leona Gertrude Heddinger, the daughter of James and Gertrude (Christman) Cunningham, was born Aug. 4, 1913, in Dubuque.
She received her early education in Ankeny, and then moved to Emmetsburg, where she completed her education.
She married William "Warren" Heddinger on Dec. 21, 1929, in Fort Dodge. Following their marriage, they farmed near Emmetsburg. In 1940, they moved to California, and in 1943, they moved to Spencer.
Mrs. Heddinger worked at Spencer Fish & Tackle, Aalf's Manufacturing, Swanson's Grocery, Teeg's Steak House, The Hotel, Club 71 and the Moose Lodge.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one son, two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Heddinger of Spencer; one son, Richard Heddinger of Spencer; one grandson; and other relatives and friends.
