We are sorry to note the passing away of another one of our dear old people, Mary Jane Dewey, wife of Seldon Dewey, died Jan. 1st at the age of 86 years. Mother or Grandmother Dewey, as she was lovingly called, endeared herself alike to both young and old. To know her was to love her. An aged husband and two brothers survive her, also her stepchildren, who thoroughly appreciated her loving qualities, mourn her loss.

In the absence of her pastor, J.B. Walker, Rev. H. Clegg, of Emmetsburg, conducted services at the home. M.H. Dewey accompanied her remains to Boscobel, Wisconsin, her former home for interment.
