Lee Ostrum Lorenz, 1914-2008

Lee Ostrom Lorenz, the son of John Joseph and Lillie Elizabeth Ostrom, was born September 26, 1914, in Clay County, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Langdon and Dickens area where he received his education in country schools.

Lee married Gertrude Sorenson on February 21, 1939, at his parent's home farm north of Langdon. Throughout their married life, they farmed in Clay County. In their later years, they retired and moved to Wahpeton. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. Lee loved to farm and he was a workaholic. In his spare time, he enjoyed going out west deer hunting and liked to tinker around spending time in his yard.

Mr. Lorenz passed away at his home in Wahpeton on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Ted, George and Jim; and a sister, Mary.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gertrude of Wahpeton; two sons: Tom and Judi Lorenz of Spencer and their children: Dana Lorenz and his wife, Catherine of Dallas, TX, and Kimberly Lorenz of Apache Junction, AZ; and John and Karen Lorenz of Helena, MT, and their children: Colleen Lorenz, LeAnne Yenny and her husband, Zane, and Lisa Ditriksen and her husband, Derek all of Bozeman, MT; six great- grandchildren: Trevor, Tucker, Daela, Tiegan, Adele, Leyna all of Bozeman, MT; one sister, Ruth Hansen of Spencer; other relatives and friends.

Interment in Riverside cemetery
