James Simington, son of William and Margaret Simington, was born at Orillia, Canada, on January 6, 1856, and died January 29, 1926.
With his parents he moved to Clay County in the year of 1872 and settled on a farm in Freeman township, and has been a resident of Clay County until the time of his death.
He was one of a family of fourteen children, of which four brothers, George and Noble of Colorado, William of Orillia, Canada, and Adam of Ruthven, and one sister, Mrs. Eliza McClelland of Orillia, Canada are still living.
Funeral services were held from the Cobb Funeral Home Monday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.E. Ryerson.
