Funeral services for Archie W. Rees, 75, Greenville, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Warner Chapel. The Rev. Stephen Savage will officiate, and burial will be in the Northlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Donald Schoer will sing “Good Night and Good Morning” and “Beyond the Sunset,” accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Everett Amis. Serving as casket bearers will be Jack Hamrick, Robert Crouch, Donald Schoer, James Green, Fred Sparks and Everett Amis.

Rees died Wednesday at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.

The son of Charles W. Rees and Sarah Partridge Rees, he was born Sept. 19, 1907 in Alta. He graduated from the Alta High School in 1927, and married Zella Irene Hulbert in South Sioux City, Neb. on Dec. 14, 1930.

Rees worked for the Rock Island Railroad for 11 years, and was later employed by the State Highway Commission until his retirement in August, 1927. He lived in the Greenville area for 50 years, and was a member of the Friends Church.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Rees, Greenville; one son, LeRoy, Greenville; two daughters, Delores Glau, Downey, Calif., and Janice Sparling, Boise, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; 143 great grandchildren; one brother Marvin Rees, Cedar Falls; and one sister, Olive Batho, Cape Coral, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lester Rees; three sisters, Laura Shoemaker, Florence Grienke and Nettie Rukes; and one great granddaughter, Stacy Shouse.

The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Interment in North Lawn cemetery
