HEART ATTACK IS FATAL FOR J. ELLERBROEK
Relatives in Everly received word of the death of Mr. Jake Elerbroek of Richmond, Virginia. Mr. Ellerbroek passed away Monday, March 26, at the age of sixty years. He was Head Engineer of the Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation, of which he had been an employee since 1940.
On Monday morning he became seriously ill while at the office and decided to consult a physician for medication, but to no avail, he passed away shortly after arrival at the physician's office. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
The deceased was the son-in-law of Mrs. Ben Moeller and the late Mr. Ben Moeller and a brother-in-law of Mrs. Lester Hilbreth. Mrs. Ellerbroek is the former Erma Moeller.
Immediate survivors besides his wife Erma and son Steven, are two sisters (Nell)now Mrs. John Wegter and (Anna) now Mrs. Jess Kimmel, both of Long Beach, California and three brothers, Leonard of Long Beach, California and Dames and Peter of Sheldon, Iowa.

J. Ellerbroek Services Held Sat. Afternoon
Funeral Services for Mr. Jake Ellerbroek were conducted last Saturday afternoon, March 31, 1962, from the Warner Funeral Chapel in Spencer. The Rev. D. Cronrath of Hope Lutheran Church of Everly officiated at the service.
Music was provided by the soloist, Mrs. Orville Koechert who sang, "Have Thine Own Way Lord" and "Near The Cross". She was accompanied by Mrs. Fred Adrian who served as organist.
Pallbearers were: Dr. Wm. Moermond, Mr. Mearl Thiessen, Mr. Henry Frydenborg, Mr. A. J. Thiessen, Mr. Bob Cuttell and Mr. George Stuhr.
Interment was made in Lone Tree Cemetery near Everly.
OBITUARY
Jake Ellerbroek, son of Peter and Cornelia Van Dis Ellerbroek, was born January 19,1902 at Orange City, Iowa. When a small boy, he moved with his parents to a farm near Sheldon, Iowa. In 1919 he graduated from Sheldon High School, receiving a scholarship. He attended Iowa State University at Ames, graduating with the class of 1925, with a Batchelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He was affiliated with the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity Tau Beta Pi Honary Engineer. Since 1940 he has been associated with Stone and Webster Construction and Engineering.
On March 7, 1942 he was united in marriage to Erma Moeller of Everly, at Joliet, Illiois. To this union, was born one son, Steven, who is enrolled as a freshman in the College University of Richmond, Virginia.
Mr. Ellerbroek's work required living in various parts of the United States. In 1957, he moved with his wife and son, from Long Beach, California to Richmond, Virginia, where he was Senior Resident Engineer for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation.
He was Baptized and confirmed in the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa. On Monday morning, March 26, he went to his office as usual and after a short time, he became ill and decided to consult a physician. Death came almost instantaneously and was attributed to a heart attack.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Amy. Immediate survivors are his widow and one son Steven; two sisters, (Nell) Mrs. John Wegler and (Anna) Mrs. Jess Kimmel, both of Long Beach, California; three brothers, Leonard, also of Long Beach; Dames and Pete of Sheldon, Iowa. He is also survived by other relatives and a host of friends.
Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were: Mr. Leonard P. Ellerbroek of Long Beach, California; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ellerbroek, Mr. and Mrs. Dames Ellerbroek, Mr. and Mrs. Cedric Ellerbroek, Mrs. Dan Kimmel and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kimmel all of Sheldon, Iowa; Mr. Claire Jones, Royal, Iowa; Mrs. Annie Moeller and Mrs. Frances Moeller of Milford, Iowa.
