LIBERTYVILLE. Dale Francis ESSICK Sr., 52, died Wed. at University Hospital in Iowa City. Raymond Funeral Home. He was a carpenter for Ceco Steel Corp. of Des Moines and farmed west of Libertyville.

Born March 29, 1918, near Spencer, son of Luther and Belle CARROLL ESSICK. Reared and educated in the Mallard community in NW Iowa; married Nov. 22, 1941, in Princeton, Mo., Arda DOOLEY. Served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Moved to the Libertyville community 20 years ago from Des Moines. Member Brethren Church of Ayrshire, Knights of Pythias, Carpenter's Union Local 1260 and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. John NORUM, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Robert CRITTENDEN, Wilmington, Del.; one son, Dale Jr., assigned to the USS America stationed at Norfolk, Va.; one granddaughter, a brother, Franklin ESSICK, Webb, Iowa, and Mrs. C.N. ERICKSON, Albert City. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (Burial in Fell Cemetery)
