Jackson, W. C. Resides at Sanborn, Iowa; born May 4, 1845, at Principio Furnace, Cecil County, Md.; father (born December 11, 1811, at same place); mother (born May 10, 1818, at Wellsville, Va.). Married to Florence A. McCall July 27, 1875; children: Martha M. and Victor McCall Jackson.
Enlisted August 11, 1862,at McConnelsville, Ohio, in Company C. Ninety-seventh Ohio Infantry, Second Brigade, Second Division, Fourth Corps; appointed corporal December 17, 1864; served in battles Perryville, Stone River, Manchester, Chickamauga, Kenesaw Mountain, Rocky Face Bridge, Resaca, Peach Tree Creek, Siege Atlanta, Jonesboro, Knoxville, Missionary Ridge, Franklin and Nashville; discharged June 10, 1865, at Columbus, Ohio. Settled in O'Brien County May 13, 1892, at Sanborn. Member Kenyon Post G. A. R., at Sanborn, having transferred from Phil Sheridan Post, Malta, Ohio; also member I. O. O. F. and K. P.; member Board of Supervisors, elected for 1909, 1910 and 1911.
