John Jacob Niedt

I am looking for information on John Jacob Niedt (1840 - 1874). Buried in Union Cemetery. I am interested in any information from his birth in Germany to the 1870 US Census in Madison County. When did he come to the US? How did he get here? Where did he live prior to Iowa. How did he die so young? He married Anna C. Wetzel from Pennsylvania. I am fairly confident that Frederick Niedt (also buried in Union Cemetery) is his older brother. John Jacob is my 2nd great-grandfather.
