MRS. WILLIAM GREEN

Mary M. Read was born May 4, 1847, in Virginia, and died in Clarksburg, West Virginia, April 22, 1913, being 65 years, 11 months and 19 days old.

She was married to William D. Green of Clarke county, Iowa, on the third day of September 1868, and located near Jamison where they have every since made their home and where a family of eight children were born to them, six of whom are still living. William Green, the husband of the deceased passed away November 21, 1910.

The deceased united with the Christian church in early life. She afterwards united with the Methodist church and remained a faithful member of the same until her death.

Mrs. Green took sick Sunday while visiting in West Virginia and passed away after a brief illness of two days. She underwent a surgical operation from which she never recovered.

The funeral was held in the Methodist church in Jamison, conducted by Rev. L. B. Carpenter on Saturday afternoon. Burial was made in the Jamison cemetery.
