Douglas John Mackie, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior December 19, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Doug was born in Cleveland, Ohio July 23, 1923 to David Mackie and Catherine Cargill.

He his preceded in death by parents and sister Irene C. Stratton.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Mackie. His children Jan (Scott Gault), Deb (Bill Potts) and Dave (Rosa) Mackie and 8 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Private services were held December 21. There will be a memorial service scheduled later in Michigan.
