Everett Eugene Miller, son of Clarence and Daisy Clevenger Miller, was born May 31, 1920, in Leslie and died Aug. 2, 2000. He was 80.

Mr. Miller married Lois Heston on Oct. 3, 1947, in Chariton and they became the parents of four children.

He was a lifetime resident of Clarke County and lived in Murray for 31 years. He was a member of the Murray Legion Post No. 405 and served the Murray community as nighttime marshal from 1969 through 1976.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Wayne and Paul.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife Lois Miller of Osceola; a son, Wayne Miller and his wife, Sharon Miller, of Odessa, Texas; three daughters, Mary Ann Marvin and Connie Penick and her husband, Jim Penick, all of Osceola, and Susan Adams and her husband, Ron Adams, of Oakland; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; a sister, Alice Fisher of Oskaloosa; two brothers, Cecil Miller of Kirkville and Donald Miller of Ottumwa; other relatives and friends.

Services were Aug. 5 at Samuelson Funeral Home in Osceola, Pastor Mary Burgus officiating. Virginia Reynolds, organist, accompanied Lynne Samuelson as she sang, How Great Thou Art and Wind Beneath My Wings.

Casket bearers were Jim Penick, Ron Adams, Andy Heston, Bill Marvin, Steve Potter and George McCann.
Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
