No services will be held for George M. Marks, a retired real estate developer who died Friday in a Sacramento hospital. He was 89.

Mr. Marks moved to Sacramento in 1952 and worked as a residential developer until retired in the late 1960’s.

He also owned and raced thoroughbred horses with his late son, Donald, in the 1960s and ‘70s.

Mr. Marks was born in Murray, Iowa and was a businessman in Chicago before moving to Sacramento.

He is survived by a sister Gladys Mathes of Westminster, Orange County; a granddaughter, Donna D’Amico of Sacramento; and a great grandson.

Arrangements were made through the East Lawn Mortuary.

The family requests that any remembrances be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
