Emma Catherine Saddoris was born April 22, 1890, in Murray, Iowa, daughter of William Marks and Minnie Zolle Marks. She was educated in the Murray schools, graduating in 1907.

She was married February 12, 1908, to Fred Saddoris in Murray. Two children were born to this union. During her lifetime which was spent in Clarke county, Mrs. Saddoris served as a school teacher and bookkeeper. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Osceola.

Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Hutchings of Osceola; a son-in-law, Del Hutchings; four brothers, Harry Marks of Humeston; George Marks of Sacramento, California; Frank Marks of Las Vegas, Nevada; four sisters, Lena Saddoris of Osceola; Mary Cummings of Monmouth, Illinois; Alice Lederle and Minnie Mathis of Los Angeles, California; nieces nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, Fred in 1952 and a daughter, Gladys Helen in infancy.
Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery, Osceola.

Funereal services will be held Friday, February 3, for Mrs. Emma Catherine Saddoris who died Tuesday, January 31, in Clarke County Hospital. Rev. John McCallum will officiate at the 2 p.m. services from the First Methodist church in Osceola with Webster Funeral Home in charge.
