Susan Kay Kline, 75, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, at home from complications of Alzheimers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2022, at Iles Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, IA.

Susan was born January 16, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Walter and Lillian (McCoy) Hunt. She was raised in Osceola, IA, and married James Kline on January 25, 1964. They moved to Granger in 1968 where they made their home and raised their two children.

Susan was a housekeeping supervisor for Woodward State Hospital for 17 years and later worked at Drake University and the Des Moines Science Center. She enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. Susan loved animals, especially her dogs and her parrots.

Susan is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim, daughter, Kayla (Tim) Peoples of Granger, IA; son, Larry (Teresa) Kline of Marshalltown, IA; and two grandchildren, Marlie and Myles Peoples of Granger. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Paul Hunt and Bernadine Manhart.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday January 16, 2022, at Iles Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
